January, February, 2010

January:

Fellowship meetings – Sunday’s 5:00-6:30 p.m. on the 10^th – 31^st

Sunday, 17^th – Parent and Youth Meeting for those youth wishing to participate      in the TeenServe Mission Opportunity in Wisconsin, from June 27^th – July   3^rd.   We will gather to review the requirements of attending this mission      opportunity, as well as review fundraising efforts.

Fellowship Event for both Junior and Senior High’s:          

                                WINTER JAM

                                            Saturday, Jan. 23^rd*

                                                    6:00 p.m.

                                                Cost:  $10.00

(*because of this fellowship event, ABY will not be meeting on Sunday, 24^th)

This is a Christian sponsored concert featuring; Third Day, NEWSBOYS, Newsong and 10^th Ave. North with a great speaker sharing his faith journey.   We will need to leave Pontiac at 3:45 in order to get to the hall (Assembly Hall, Champaign) early enough to purchase tickets – they are only sold at the door on a first come first serve basis!  You may bring along your dinner and eat in van or additional money to stop “along the way.”

FEBRUARY:

Fellowship meetings – 7^th – 21^st – 28^th

Fellowship Event:  Friday, Feb. 12^th – Hockey game and concert!

NeedToBreath will be having a concert after the Rivermen hockey game – tickets cost $18.00 for upper bowl and $23.00 lower bowl – youth fellowship fund will cover $10.00 of the cost for each youth – a determination will need to be made on the level you would like to sit – as a group.

Teen Serve Mission Fundraiser – Sunday, Feb. 14^th

5:00 – 9:30 p.m.

In order for our parents to take advantage of St. Valentine’s Day we will be offering child-care.  Contributions will be accepted as we begin our fundraising events by offering pizza, games, crafts and a video to their children.  If you are planning on participating in the mission project, you are required to attend this fundraising event.

Junior Higher’s will once again visit Good Samaritan Nursing Home for an afternoon of Bingo and Valentine’s Party! 

Looking ahead:

Sloppy Joe fundraiser for TEENSERVE – March

Palm Sunday celebration and breakfast – March 28^th

College visit for Senior High’s - also a meeting will be held for parents and youth – with Clyde Francis helping          parents and youth review college visits, questions to consider,etc.

   ***Please remember that in order to participate in the fellowship events you will need to attend worship, Sunday School and ABY on a “REGULAR BASIS” as attendance is recorded.
